Description

“Quiet River at Dusk” is an atmospheric landscape created in oil pastels, exploring stillness, reflection, and the subtle transition between light and shadow.

A calm river extends across the foreground, its surface built through layered tones of blue, green, and violet. The water appears in gentle motion, reflecting a landscape that remains soft and partially undefined. In the distance, vertical forms suggest trees or natural structures, emerging quietly within the composition.

A diffused circular light—the sun or the moon—anchors the upper space, casting a muted glow across the scene. The sky, rendered in soft violet and dusky hues, enhances the dreamlike quality of the work.

Executed in oil pastels, the surface retains a tactile softness, with visible layering and blending that create depth while preserving immediacy. The image exists between representation and abstraction, inviting the viewer into a contemplative, internal landscape shaped by perception and memory.
