The Art of Presence

Story of a life model

The Evolution of the Subject

My name is Laura Bernardeschi Nelson, known in the creative world as lauraartist68. My journey began in London in 2012, continued through Bristol, and is now rooted in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Now at 57, I find myself not diminishing but deepening. I am 5’2″, firmly in my middle age, and perhaps more artistically relevant than ever before. I typically play within the 50–65 age range, bringing a sense of authenticity, quiet strength, and lived experience to each role.

In an industry once preoccupied with youth, I stand quietly as proof that presence, character, and depth carry a beauty far more enduring.

The Soul of the Pose & The Screen

My work as a life model has taken me into the studios of respected academies, universities, and private artists’ circles. There, posing becomes something rather more profound than stillness—it becomes a conversation without words.

One learns to listen with the body.
To hold emotion in silence.
To exist, simply and truthfully, in the gaze of another.

It is this discipline that carries seamlessly onto the screen.

32 Credits of Resilience: My IMDb Story

My path has led me from the quiet intensity of the artist’s studio to the intricate choreography of film and television.

With 32 professional credits on IMDb, my work reflects years of resilience, adaptability, and commitment to the craft. Not every contribution is recorded—but each has shaped the performer I am today.

I began, as many do, with humble means—balancing shifts at McDonald’s while learning the rhythms of the British film world. From there, I stepped gradually into productions across the BBC, as well as Netflix and Amazon series, feature films, music videos, and advertising campaigns.

What I have cultivated above all is a quiet reliability:
the ability to arrive prepared, present, and entirely camera-ready.

Because the camera, in truth, does not seek perfection.
It seeks presence.
It seeks honesty.
It seeks someone who knows how to simply be.

A New Chapter: Mentorship and Care

With experience comes a certain responsibility.

I am now gently opening a path for aspiring female models (18+), offering mentorship grounded not only in technique but also in awareness and protection.

The creative industries can be luminous—but they are not without their shadows. Too often, unregulated spaces leave young women exposed to uncertainty and risk.

Having navigated this landscape myself, I feel compelled to offer something steady:
guidance, clarity, and a sense of safety.

My mentorship includes:

  • The art of posing with intention and grace
  • Recognising unsafe situations and unverified opportunities
  • Building the confidence to establish and maintain firm professional boundaries

Looking Forward

My appearance, like my work, has evolved.

I have set aside the colours of the past and embraced my natural blonde and white hair—soft, luminous, and entirely my own. It has opened doors to roles of quiet strength: women of history, of character, of story.

This is not a return.
It is a continuation—more honest, more grounded, and more assured.
