Laura Bernardeschi known as lauraartist68 is a self taught British and Italian artist based now in Newcastle upon tyne after 11 years spent in London and Bristol .

Busy chickens , always running on their legs
nearly forgetting to bring their small heads with them.
But…what is the prize for all that rush?

Career as an artist
Laura is also a known supporting actress , life model , blogger and photographer . While her work as life model and actress was busy in the capital in the 2017th , she decided to try her skills in painting while living in Marlborough/ Uk to fight stress , anguish, fear , loneliness and anxiety due to an abusive relationship . In that period she became so fascinated by the light and the colours of the nature that decided to reproduce them in her bright abstracts on canvas using acrylics colours .
Influenced by the great Italian artists, Van Gogh , Picasso , Frida , the Impressionists and David Hockney she has always loved to experiment different styles and different medias .
In the last year she has started to reproduce on her canvas the beauty of the spiritual world and several social issues , most connected to domestic abuse and pollution like “a story to tell “.
Now in Newcastle upon tyne, she works from her artistic flat transformed by her creativity in an art gallery where neighbours and friends love to go in order to admire her artworks .

The girl , an alter ego of the artist is a young woman living in a jungle .
Her eyes are curious behind plants , butterflies and beautiful birds .
She loves the nature and has a yellow flower in the middle of her orange hair
She seems talking with the animals using her green eyes .
In a jungle you do not need words to make friends .In a jungle you need action.
But she does not seem scared . She probably thinks that living in a jungle is less dangerous than living in a city surrounded by selfish human beings ready to stubbed your back with faked smiles , lies and gossips .

The girl , an alter ego of the artist is a young woman just arrived in a big city for a better job .
Her eyes are pensive because remembering her happy moments while hiking in the countryside around Cotswold , Somerset and Wiltshire .
But she is not sad because is trying to recreate those moments wearing a green hat with a flower and a duckling designed on it , matching perfectly with her red hair , green eyes and red lips .
She has lots of plants and flowers around probably growing in her new flat.
She is like an exotic bamboo tree planted in a garden of a city …patient , strong and flexible to the new situation .
But she will come back stronger than ever ready for this new original jungle .

In this artwork there is a clear denounce against pollution and plastic killing our oceans.
there is a fish represented in three different moment inside a plastic bottle representing our ocean : the fish is still healthy when at the bottom of the bottle even if pieces of metal and plastic have arrived to pollute the water ..but more he goes towards the surface more become unhealthy , dirty and fat for eating plastic and all the rubbish it can find in the water .
On the surface of the bottle there are all the industries ruining our planet creating plastic and oil .
On the other side there is mother nature with incredible purple hair .
Even mother nature has adapted herself to the modern world wearing a wig with plastic purple hair and transforming her nose through a plastic surgery in a chimney .
She is sad and cries looking at the mess is happening on her planet but she can not do anything until the men at the power start to take serious actions and stop this chemical earthquakes .

This artwork was painted after a travel in Northumberland ,around Bamburgh castle , in January 2022 during a violent storm of wind .
The attention of the artist, arrived in north east of England just one month before , was captured by this beautiful natural park full of wild animals , trees and plants fighting the hard winter to survive.
Because of the season , everything was dominated by a simple brown colour that immediately transformed itself into a beautiful golden tone when brightened by the sun.

This painting is inspired by a sunrise that the artist saw during a camping experience last summer 2022 in Northumberland.
It was 10 pm but the sun was still up showing all the beautiful colours in the sky with no clouds .

Sunset of Northumberland is a painting the artists decided to paint after seeing a beautiful sunset during a camping experience in this area of North East of England .
The colours on the ground were very similar at those in the sky and the beautiful red trees were mixing well with them .
