This atmospheric landscape is inspired by memories of Tuscany, the homeland of artist Laura Bernardeschi Nelson. Painted with expressive oil pastel gestures, the work captures the emotional warmth of rolling hills, winding country roads, dark cypress-like trees, and fields scattered with wild flowers beneath a luminous sky.

Rather than portraying a precise place, Dreaming of Tuscany explores memory, distance, and emotional belonging. The curving road invites the viewer inward, leading through a landscape suspended between reality and recollection — a peaceful refuge shaped by light, movement, and nostalgia.

Layers of greens, turquoise blues, soft earth tones, and vibrant floral accents create a dreamlike atmosphere filled with both serenity and quiet energy. The textured surface preserves the spontaneity of the artist’s hand, allowing the painting to remain instinctive, alive, and emotionally expressive.

Living in the North East of England, Laura Bernardeschi Nelson often paints landscapes shaped by memory, weather, and emotional geography. In this work, Tuscany becomes not only a physical place, but a longing carried across time and distance.

This original artwork is signed on the front and back, professionally framed, ready to hang, and delivered with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Description

This abstract work explores hidden structures, emotional connections, and the fragile geometry that exists beneath human experience.

Interconnected circular forms and linear pathways spread across the surface like an organic network—part cellular structure, part constellation, part imagined map. Soft violets, muted greys, and layered greens create an atmosphere that feels both scientific and dreamlike, balanced between order and instability.

Created with expressive oil pastel marks, the painting retains a raw tactile quality. The visible gestures and layered textures allow the viewer to sense both construction and dissolution happening simultaneously. The composition suggests movement, communication, and unseen energy flowing through invisible systems.

Rather than offering a fixed interpretation, the work invites reflection on connection itself: between people, memory, nature, and internal landscapes.

Part of my ongoing exploration of abstraction and emotional mapping, this piece investigates how fragile structures can still hold tension, rhythm, and life.

The Path of Hope: A Journey Through Nature’s Beauty

by Laura Bernardeschi Nelson

The path of Hope

Description: Welcome to a realm where nature whispers the secrets of the soul.

In this captivating artwork by Laura Bernardeschi Nelson, a dramatic, velvet-dark sky hangs over majestic, mysterious mountains. The landscape feels powerful, almost ancient, rendered with the rich and deep textures of professional oil pastels.

But look closer, and let your eyes follow the magic: cutting right through the heavy shadows, a luminous, flowing river of delicate pink petals carves a path of pure light. In the foreground, winter trees with hints of fiery red and deep teal stand like silent guardians, watching this beautiful transformation unfold.

The Path of Hope is more than a landscape; it is a visual poem about resilience, healing, and inner strength. It serves as a gentle, enchanting reminder that no matter how dark or stormy the valley of life may seem, hope will always find a secret way to bloom and guide us home.

This original piece brings a sophisticated, emotional energy to any space, perfect for collectors who love art with a deep, magical story to tell.
