Quiet Horizon: Original Oil Pastel Art

Quiet Horizon—oil pastels on paper (framed original)

£500

I’ve been working on winter light again — that particular kind of light that turns everything quiet, as if the world is holding its breath.

This piece is called Quiet Horizon. It’s an original artwork created with oil pastels on paper, built in soft layers so the sea feels wide and alive without becoming noisy. I wanted the water to carry that blue-green shimmer you only see on cold days, when the shoreline looks almost suspended between sea and sky. The distant land sits low and dark, grounding the scene, while the violet sky keeps it dreamlike.

Like many of my landscapes, this one is less about a specific place and more about a feeling: stillness, distance, and calm after weather — the moment when you stop walking and simply look.

The artwork is signed, varnished, framed, and ready to hang.

Between the Trees

£500

Between the Trees is an original oil pastel artwork on paper by Laura Bernardeschi Nelson. A quiet woodland path curves into the distance, framed by tall trunks and softened layers of grey, mauve, and warm earth tones. The piece focuses on atmosphere over detail—capturing that hushed moment when the forest feels still, and the light turns everything gentle and uncertain.

Medium: Oil pastels on paper
Finish: Varnished
