In 2012, I embarked on a unique journey as a life model in London. Now, over 12 years later and at 55, I continue this rewarding work. It’s more than just a job; it’s a passion that connects me with artists and fuels my own creativity.
The Joy of Connection

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a life model is the opportunity to meet fellow artists. Each session is a chance to engage with diverse talents, share experiences, and witness their artistic processes. My knowledge of art has grown as a result of this exchange, and it has also motivated me to pursue my own artistic goals.
The Freedom of the Human Form

Being a naturist, I am totally at ease posing in my undies. From the start, I embraced the idea that art transcends societal restrictions, and in an often taboo-bound world, my art gives me and the artists a platform to express authenticity and freedom. Art becomes a celebration of the human form, liberated from judgement.
Transformation into an Artist
This journey has profoundly changed me. Through my experiences, I’ve discovered my own artistic voice, and I’m convinced now that it is never too late to be an artist. At 55 years old, I create art inspired by the very same environment that once seemed foreign. This role has not only shaped my perspective but also ignited a passion for creativity that I continue to explore.
Tips for Aspiring Life Models

1. Be Professional: While posing, keep your manner polite and avoid making eye contact. It helps the artists focus on their work.
2. Practice Poses: Test out your poses beforehand to gauge your comfort and endurance. A seemingly easy pose can quickly become a challenge! You need to keep for example your back relaxed if you are doing an hour pose because after just 10 minutes you will regret your mistake . Try also your balance to see if you can keep an easy pose for more than 5 minutes. Practise and exercise will help you in this.
3. Keep Warm: Remaining motionless for extended periods of time can be cold, so ask for a warm room.
4. Prepare Physically: Stretch before sessions to avoid muscle strain.
5. Be Smart About Hydration: To avoid disruptions, avoid consuming excessive amounts of water or coffee just before a session.
6. Respect Artists’ Work: Always ask for permission before taking photos of their artwork, and respect their wishes regarding sharing on social media.
7. Choose Your Audience: Be mindful of who you share your profession with. Art often faces prejudice, so it’s easier to describe yourself as an artist working in studios.
8. To stay still, try to think about your projects or practise meditation
Conclusion
My journey as a life model has taught me the beauty of vulnerability and the power of artistic expression. In a society that often misunderstands art, I’ve found my voice and purpose. It is a life-changing experience that promotes freedom, creativity, and connection, so I urge anyone thinking about following this path to do so wholeheartedly.
